« A clear win for Bush | Main | Social Security Poll...and why blacks will eventually start supporting Republicans »

I believe I heard a news report that some Republican senators may be considering using the filibuster when funding for stem-cell research comes to a vote. Maybe the filibuster is not so bad after all?

Bruno comments:

I've never really had a problem with the filibuster as a concept. I believe it is clearly outside the purview of the Constitution, which allows the legislature to "make its own rules."

While there is evidence that the framers would frown on a 'supermajority' for judges, there is no real Constitutional Issue in the filibuster (or its modification).

Bush will veto any "embryo destruction / trafficking in human flesh" bill.
